Karri named an App of the Year finalist at the SA FinTech Awards 2026

We’re proud to share some exciting news: Karri has been named a finalist in the App of the Year category at the SA FinTech Awards 2026.

‍

The Fintech Association of South Africa announced the finalists today, with Karri joining Franc and GoTyme Bank as the three organisations shortlisted in the category.

‍

It’s a proud moment for the Karri team and one we share with the schools, parents and students who are at the heart of what we do.

‍

A milestone we share with our school communities

‍

Karri was built around a simple purpose: to make school payments simpler, safer and smarter.

‍

Every day, schools use Karri to manage collections and payments with less administration and better visibility. Parents have a simpler way to manage payments through the Karri App, while students benefit from payment solutions designed around everyday school life.

‍

Being recognised in the App of the Year category is an exciting milestone because it reflects the role technology can play in solving real, everyday challenges for school communities.

‍

But it is also a reminder that an app is only as valuable as the experience it creates for the people using it.

‍

That is why this recognition belongs just as much to the schools, parents and students who continue to use Karri, share feedback and help us improve.

‍

Recognised alongside South African fintech innovators

The SA FinTech Awards celebrate the companies and people helping shape financial technology in South Africa.

‍

This year, the awards received more entries than ever before, with 33 finalists selected across 11 categories.

‍

To see Karri recognised alongside some of South Africa’s fintech innovators makes this an especially meaningful moment for our team.

‍

Our finalist letter also notes that the category was closely contested and that reaching the final three is a significant achievement.

What happens next?

The finalists now move forward to an independent judging panel, with the results audited by Deloitte. The winners will be announced at the SA FinTech Awards evening in Cape Town on 26 November 2026.
